Reduction of CO2 emissions with FABA sun roofs

Air conditioning is virtually a standard feature but also the cause of higher petrol consumption. In many cases a tinted sun roof would be sufficient to achieve a pleasant temperature in the interior of the car. This makes a sun roof a good selling point to an increasingly ecologically sensitized clientele

How FABA-glass is made and what distinguishes it from others

The raw material for FABA-sun roofs is a special deep tinted sun protective glass with the trade name VENUS, which is delivered in 3 x 6m lengths. After four largely automated processing stages and stringent quality controls throughout the end product is completed.

Before the roof glass can be given the name FABA-glass, it has to pass the conclusive 100% manufacturing check. Only if it complies both with the customer’s specifications and the ECE, DOT and CCC requirements can delivery go ahead.Apart from the high quality of materials and production the distinguishing features of FABA-sun roofs are precision, aesthetics and functionality. The narrow margins, precision bending and quiet aesthetics of the deep tinted glass are mirrored in the eye of the observer when for example he sees the undistorted reflections of trees or clouds on the sun roof. The requirements for perfect alignment to the body form are absolute precision in the cut, grinding and bending of the glass.

This makes for a fast, accurate and cost effective processing of the complete module when fitted in the car roof at a later date. The deep tinted glass limits the energy transmission and absorbs the infra-red rays. FABA-Autoglas stands for precision quality, more transparence, comfort and safety when driving.
